Over the weekend, I went to stay with Melissa in her hometown, Schenectady, NY. In addition to showing me around the 3rd largest city in New York, we also went out to our first Ani DiFranco concert. The concert, which lasted three hours, highlighted the new album, Evolve.
When talking about the concert, it seems almost necessary to talk about this woman's beauty. She has that unconventional allure about her that warrants a more introspective look. Not only do her bold features demand your attention, but they also captivate you. Seems like a lot of action going on at once, yet they do not take away from the vibrance of her guitar playing. Ani played the entire two hour set acousticly, switching guitars as the songs changed. Proctor's Theater was packed to the brim for the duration of the three hour show. Ani's opening act, Hamil was really great too. A mere description of his performance is not enough, you just have to experience it. For an opening act, his brass and frequently political demeanor was totally engaging. *thumbs up* Our seats were excellent; we sat no more than 20 feet away from the stage.
Needless to say, it sucked was one of the best acoustic shows I've ever seen.

Ani and Tori are tied hands down for the best performers I've ever seen. Did Ani hump her bongo drum during your show? (WHOA!).
She's the bomb. Pick up the album if you haven't yet.
