Several of us decided to go camping (yes, in the winter) this weekend.

We almost died.

Frozen feet disrupted any kind of comfortable sleep. Let alone laying atop a thing blue tarp, which meagerly separated us from a compact mixture of hard snow and ice. Stuffed two per sleeping bag, with relentless snow and frostbite air blowing inside our shack, we could have easily frozen to death.

Or so I prayed against.

Slight exaggeration, but not too far from what really happened at the summit point of Black Mountain.

I would have thought that after the Asheville camping trip that you would have hung up your camping hat for good.

I'm glad you didn't lose any of your little fingers and toes to frostbite
