Today's lecture pertained to human behavior. We studied two readings from the famous psychologists: Freud and Skinner. While Freud argues that individual behavior is predominantly determined by the unconscious and minimally by the conscious, Skinner contests that our behavior patterns directly correlate with influences from the external environment. In a brief discussion with Warren, one of Tower's coolest custodians, he conveyed the idea that "the brain is just a big hunk of fat." While this may not be the case for people everywhere, I would have to conclude that it almost absolutely seems so outside of class, at least for a good majority of my college peers here at Skidmore.
